Synacy is a technology company that recruits for RISE, the newest and fastest Internet Service Provider in the Philippines. We need enthusiastic individuals to help run our networking operations as we improve the internet in the Philippines.

You will be joining a team of software engineers in our Cebu office as a dedicated networking administrator. Your role will be a mix of NOC, customer support, constant project work and further learning.

You will receive mentoring by our network architect who has previously worked at Juniper and Telstra and join a vibrant and engaged team. As part of the job you you will have access to interesting hardware, software and practices. All network administrators are trained to become Network Engineers and all Network Operations staff are expected to be on call and available to support our network. This role will involve shift work.

Your responsibilities will fall into some of the following areas:

  • Network support of internal and external customers
  • Handling technical enquiries and managing upstream partners or internal teams for fault resolution
  • Monitoring production systems and networks
  • Creating labs, testing, configuring, troubleshooting equipment
  • Following and developing procedures and documentation
  • Internal desktop and networking support and ad-hoc IT tasks and projects

An ideal candidate will possess:

  • Understanding of IP Networking including TCP, UDP and DNS
  • A science (e.g. computer science), technology, engineering or math degree
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to apply it
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), problem solving and analytical skills
  • A learning aptitude with can-do attitude – we’re a small company and what you do really makes a difference
  • Preferred good understanding of CLI and tools e.g. linux/bash, junos/ios, mtr, nmap, iperf, traceroute, tcpdump/wireshark etc
  • Preferred the ability to script/code
  • Preferred 1 year experience in support, help desk, network administration or other technical service
